Greektown partners with Detroit Bus Company to provide free shuttles to downtown events
(WXYZ) – Greektown is partnering with the Detroit Bus Company to provide free shuttle services to all residents attending select sporting events and concerts in downtown Detroit.
The free shuttle service begins in May and will take guests from Monroe Street to Little Caesars Arena, Ford Field and Comerica Park.
In May, the bus service will offer free shuttles to the Tigers vs. Athletics game on May 10 and the Tigers vs. Twins game on May 31.
“We are thrilled to once again offer a free courtesy shuttle to those visiting Greektown, supporting community events, small businesses and more transportation options for those visiting downtown,” said Melanie Markowicz, Executive Director of Greektown Neighborhood Partnership.
Free Ouzo Cruizo II shuttle pickup is in Greektown along Monroe Street from Randolph Street to I-375 Service Drive.
Shuttles start one hour before the start of the event and run continuously until one hour after the end of the event.
Pickups are approximately every 20 minutes.
“Providing free transportation to an entire neighborhood of Greektown supports our organization’s mission to get every Detroiter where they need to go,” said Andy Didoros, founder and CEO of the Detroit Bus Company.
The company plans to extend services until the winter season for hockey games.
The monthly shuttle schedule will be available on the Greektown website at www.greektowndetroit.org.
