Furniture company in Catawba County creates jobs

CATAWBA, North Carolina – Sherrill Furniture, a high-end furniture maker, will create 90 new jobs in Catawba County, Governor Roy Cooper announced Friday.

Founded in Catawba County in 1945, Sherrill Furniture Company has maintained its heritage of custom furniture manufacturing in America for over 75 years.

“Arrears in the furniture industry are at an all time high,” said Thad Monroe, president of Sherrill Furniture Company. “We are 100% focused on substantially reducing delivery times for our customers and are prepared to invest heavily to respond more quickly to orders for our products made in the United States. Although salaries vary by position, the average salary for all new jobs will exceed the Catawba County average salary by $ 43,920. The total impact on the wage bill for the region is expected to reach over $ 3.9 million.
